Spring has arrived, and with it comes the start of the festival season. Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, fondly known as Coachella, kicks off the festivities with Weekend 1 taking place from April 14-16 and Weekend 2 from April 21-23.
If you leave right now (Friday night, the first night of the festival) you might make it there and find parking by next weekend, and this weekend is sold out anyway so you better buy tickets before you leave, but in case that’s too much of a hassle Youtube has all the music and beauty without the traffic.
And a bunch of live feeds if you see this on the weekend of the 21st:
This year’s festival has a lot to live up to, as it follows the epic 2022 event where we witnessed the iconic Harry Styles x Shania Twain collab.
Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned festival-goer, Coachella 2023 promises to be an unforgettable experience. Here are some of the things we’re most excited about at this year’s event:
The Performances The lineup is stacked with diverse headliners, including Bad Bunny, BLACKPINK, and Frank Ocean. Emerging stars such as MUNA, Joy Crookes, and Angèle will also grace the stages, alongside industry veterans like Bjork and Charli XCX. For a more intimate experience with rising stars, camp out by the Outdoor Theatre stage during the day. Last year, Omar Apollo performed on this stage before taking off. With Benito’s (Bad Bunny) new relationship making headlines, who knows, we might see Kendall Jenner attending on night one.
The days of Coachella being a dusty, hot, dry version of Woodstock are kind of over and this has been for years a packed, over-the-top, and very successful commercial venture with some of the AAA sponsors there to charm you with their hip credentials.
The American Express Coachella Experience: a must-see pop-up for AmEx card members. The experience will allow festival-goers to snap some Y2K-inspired photos at their photo labs and studios. You can also pick up exclusive BLACKPINK and festival gear. American Express has also partnered with fashion resale site Depop and Flo Milli to curate an equally Y2K-inspired festival edit. So, make sure you have some great fits for those photos! Nice move Amex.
The Eye-catching Fashion Festival fashion is always a hot topic, and this year’s Coachella is no exception. Some trends we’ll be looking out for include coastal cowgirl, denim on denim, and Y2K fashion. It’s important to keep in mind that cultural appropriation is not acceptable, and we need to be past that in 2023.
The Aperol Spritz Piazza: The desert heat can be intense, and a refreshing drink is a necessity. Enter the Aperol Spritz Piazza, a Coachella-first that is inspired by Italian piazzas. It’s the perfect place to grab a drink or meet up with friends for a quick break from the festival.
NYLON House or ZOEasis: Looking for something to do outside of festival hours or offsite? NYLON House, presented by Samsung Galaxy, and ZOEasis, hosted by the Zoe Report and stylist Rachel Zoe, are great options. Whether you’re looking to party with DJs like Diplo into the early hours of the morning or just relax midday with some pampering and self-care, these events have you covered.
In conclusion, Coachella 2023 promises to be an unforgettable experience with a diverse lineup, unique pop-ups, eye-catching fashion, and events both on and off the festival grounds. If you can’t make it in person, don’t worry, as you can catch all the headlining performances live on YouTube. See you at Coachella!
